Superconducting and structural properties of the type-I superconductor PdTe2 under high pressure

The transition metal dichalcogenide $\mathrm{Pd}{\mathrm{Te}}_{2}$ has attractive features based on its classification as a type-II Dirac semimetal and the occurrence of type-I superconductivity, providing platform for discussion topological superconductor. Our recent work revealed that superconductivity persists up to pressures $\ensuremath{\sim}2.5$ GPa superconducting temperature ${T}_{\mathrm{c}}$ reaches maximum at around 1 GPa, which is inconsistent with theoretical prediction. To understand nonmonotonic variation investigate higher pressures, we performed structural analysis by x-ray diffraction room below 8 electrical resistivity measurements low temperatures from GPa. With regard beyond monotonic decrease in reproduced without any noticeable anomalies; changes 1.8 K 0.82 5.5 $d{T}_{\mathrm{c}}/dP\ensuremath{\sim}\ensuremath{-}0.22$ K/GPa. crystal structure space group $P\overline{3}m1$ stable pressure range examined. On other hand, normalized pressure-strain (finite strain analysis) indicates compressibility suggesting Lifshitz occurs. We here discuss effect properties comparison these experimental results.
